Information about rice straw medium for mushroom

After I read David's mushroom post, I remembered I read that rice straw is used as a culture medium for mushroom.
In 70's they made a bundle of rice straw and steamed it to remove bacteria and then use it as a source for the spore.
Now they mix it with rice bran( inner skin than rice hull) and poultry wast and ferment. the ratio is rice straw 100 : poultry waste 10 : rice bran 5 (or don't put rice bran) : urea 1.5 : plaster 1
there are more detailed process but this is a brief summary.

Since the mushroom cultivation is fast profit, using rice straw as a medium for mushroom seems have some possibility.

After reading Social Entrepreneurship: The Case for Definition

After reading this article my curiosities from first reading are answered. Social entrepreneurship in comparison  to social service provision seems to have a lot more possibility of viability and strong, broad impact. But still it seems not easy to draw a clear line between different format. especially in case of one world health, is it considered as a social entrepreneurship because it is a new equilibrium? but how is it more stable than school for children?

Answers for the questions about the course

1. Design principle, Chair studio, Drawing for design / Chair studio was my favorite so far.
2.  I got degree in French and Journalism in Korea.
3. Since I took wood 1,2 and chair studio, I think I'm good at transfer an idea to actual model.
4. I don't have clear idea yet about what area would be covered on this class.  But I was interested in and curious about non profit design and business even though I have only vague idea. That's why I'm taking this class to figure it out exactly what it is like and how it runs.
I want to experience whole process from finding a problem and designing either functional and esthetic solution. also curious how it works financially and if it is sustainable in terms of finance.
5. I have no experience yet.
6. don't have a long term goal yet, but since I'm interested in working for social interest, this class would be a good chance to see if it fits me and decide my further plan in this path.
7. I prefer individual project. but wouldn't mind work as a team, either.

After reading "The meaning of "Social Entrepreneurship""

I agree with that Social entrepreneur should be more active, innovative and creative. Social value creating is even harder than just make a profit as regular business since the social sector also has a goal of making profit our of social mission with limited source. But I was little confused with how much it is important to make a profit in social entrepreneurship. Even though improving social condition is the fundamental idea, if it doesn’t make profit itself, I kind of doubt it how much it would be sustainable. Also, As he mentioned “finding a new opportunity from a change”, is the opportunity about “how to make profit” or “how to make new business chance or project”?
